Intergenerational Practice in the Community—What Does the Community Think?

The many changes that occur in the lives of older people put them at an increased risk being socially isolated and lonely. Intergenerational programs for adults young children can potentially address this shortfall, because perceived benefit from generations interacting. This study explores whether there is appetite community intergenerational dwelling adults. An online survey was distributed via social media, research team networks, snowballing recruitment with access provided QR code or hyperlink. Semi-structured interviews were undertaken potential participants a pilot program planned Eastern Suburbs Sydney, Australia 2020. thematically analyzed. Over 250 completed survey, 21 took place (10) parents (11). data showed all favor programs, but different perceptions about who benefits most how. highlighted considerations to be addressed development effective sustainable programs.
